FBR to Crackdown on Smuggling of Petroleum Products Worth Rs396 Billion

Islamabad, Pakistan: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced plans to launch a crackdown on the smuggling of petroleum products, which is estimated to be worth nearly Rs396 billion.

The FBR will take action against illegal petrol pumps operating in different cities and is considering delegating more powers to district management to curb smuggling activities.

The FBR plans to introduce a GIS mobile application to detect unauthorized petrol pumps and implement real-time monitoring of fuel stocks. Profit

These measures are aimed at addressing the significant issue of petroleum product smuggling in Pakistan and ensuring that the government collects the appropriate taxes.
