Customs Enforcement Quetta Seizes Smuggled Goods Worth Rs251.3 Million

QUETTA: The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta has seized large consignments of smuggled goods worth an estimated Rs251.325 million during a successful intelligence-based operation carried out in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies and the district administration of Kalat.

According to official sources, the operation targeted the illegal transportation of foreign-origin goods in violation of customs laws. The seized contraband included substantial quantities of betel nuts and cloth, which were being moved without lawful documentation.

Authorities said the tentative cost, insurance and freight (CIF) value of the recovered items has been assessed at Rs251.325 million. Further legal proceedings have been initiated under the relevant provisions of customs laws, while investigations are underway to identify those involved in the smuggling network.

Customs officials reiterated their commitment to curbing smuggling activities and ensuring strict enforcement of customs regulations to protect the national economy.
