Lahore: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has sealed several outlets of popular coffee chain Double Shot in Lahore over alleged violations related to sales reporting and electronic invoicing, according to an official order.
The enforcement action was taken under Section 59A of the Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act, 2012. PRA stated that the company, registered under PNTN H053642, was allegedly bypassing the mandatory Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (EIMS) and underreporting taxable sales.
According to the authority, tax officials found that invoices were being issued outside the EIMS framework despite the system being installed at the business premises. PRA further claimed that invoices generated on June 11, 2026, were issued in violation of the electronic invoicing mechanism designed to ensure real-time tax reporting and transparency.
The authority maintained that such practices could result in a loss of government revenue and amount to willful non-compliance with provincial tax laws.
PRA also alleged that a review of the company’s records revealed discrepancies between actual sales and sales declared in tax returns. The authority claimed that the business had suppressed taxable turnover and underdeclared revenue in its official filings.
