FBR to Keep Tax Offices Open on June 27-28 to Boost End-of-Year Revenue

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that all field formations across Pakistan will remain open on June 27 and 28, 2026 (Saturday and Sunday) to facilitate taxpayers and ensure smooth collection of duties and taxes before the close of the fiscal year.

According to an official notification issued on Friday, the tax authority has also directed its offices to observe extended working hours on June 29 and 30, 2026, as part of efforts to maximize revenue collection during the final days of FY2025-26.

The decision comes as the government intensifies efforts to meet its annual revenue targets ahead of the fiscal year-end on June 30.

All FBR Field Offices to Follow Special Schedule

The FBR has instructed all of its field formations nationwide to strictly comply with the special working schedule. The directive applies to:

  • Large Taxpayer Offices (LTOs)
  • Medium Taxpayer Offices (MTOs)
  • Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs)
  • Regional Tax Offices (RTOs)

Taxpayers have been advised to complete their pending tax payments and related obligations during the extended operational period to avoid delays and ensure timely processing.

FBR Aims to Maximize Revenue Before Fiscal Year Close

The extended office hours are part of the FBR’s annual strategy to accelerate tax collection and improve revenue performance before the end of the financial year. The move is expected to facilitate businesses and individuals in making last-minute payments while helping the government achieve its fiscal targets.
