Enforced Registrations and Notices:

The FBR has initiated the process of enforcing registrations and issuing notices to taxpayers under the Tajir Dost scheme.

Key Grievances of Traders

  • Increased Tax Burden: Traders claim that the Tajir Dost scheme, along with other tax measures, has significantly increased their tax liabilities.
  • Complex Calculations: The tax calculation methodology under the scheme is perceived as complex and unfair.
  • Impact on Small Businesses: The scheme is seen as particularly detrimental to small businesses, which are already struggling with economic challenges.
  • Tax Rates:Tax is been applied on business location rather than actual revenues.

Impact on Traders:

The traders’ community is facing significant challenges due to the increased tax burden imposed by the government. The Tajir Dost scheme, along with other tax measures, has eroded profit margins and made it difficult for businesses to operate.

The upcoming strike indicates the growing frustration among traders and highlights the need for the government to address their concerns.
