LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has achieved a new milestone, posting more than 31 percent growth in revenue collection for October of the current financial year.
The Authority reported that collections for the first four months of the year were up 28 percent compared to the same period last year. Officials noted that this growth has been achieved without introducing new taxes or increasing existing rates, calling it a positive indicator of the system’s strengthening.
They attributed the improved performance to effective planning and the adoption of modern technology, which has enhanced transparency in PRA’s tax collection processes.
Officials said that wider implementation of the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (EIMS) and stronger cooperation from the business community are expected to further boost revenues. They added that ongoing registration of unregistered businesses and tightened enforcement measures are also likely to drive higher collections in the coming months.
