ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), in collaboration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), will conduct an awareness webinar on July 8, 2026, to guide businesses on the conversion of Associations of Persons (AOPs) into companies.
The special online session has been organized primarily for stakeholders from Pakistan’s steel sector, aiming to facilitate the transition of AOPs into corporate entities while explaining the legal, regulatory, and tax implications of incorporation.
According to the event announcement, officials from both the SECP and the FBR will provide detailed guidance on the company registration process, legal and regulatory requirements, tax framework, and the benefits of corporatization. Participants will also have the opportunity to raise questions directly with officials during the interactive session.
The webinar will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (Pakistan Standard Time) and will be accessible online via Zoom. In addition, physical participation has been arranged at Conference Room 358, Third Floor, FBR Headquarters, Islamabad.
The awareness session forms part of the government’s broader efforts to promote business formalization, strengthen corporate governance, and encourage documented economic activity. Authorities believe that converting AOPs into companies can improve transparency, provide easier access to financing, enhance business credibility, and enable sustainable long-term growth.
The SECP has encouraged affected businesses, industry associations, and other stakeholders to participate in the session and benefit from the guidance being jointly provided by the SECP and the FBR.
