FBR Directs Tax Offices to Remain Open on February 28 for Duty and Tax Collection

Islamabad — The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has instructed all major field formations across the country to remain open on Saturday, February 28, 2026, to facilitate the collection of duties and taxes before the close of the month.

According to an official notification issued by the Inland Revenue Wing under the Government of Pakistan, all Large Taxpayer Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayer Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) will observe normal working hours on the specified date.

The directive aims to provide maximum facilitation to taxpayers for timely payment of taxes and duties and to support revenue collection efforts for February 2026. Officials stated that keeping tax offices operational on the weekend will help businesses and individuals clear pending liabilities before the monthly revenue deadline.

The notification was issued by the Inland Revenue Operations Division, emphasizing strict compliance by all concerned offices to ensure uninterrupted tax collection services nationwide.

The move comes as the FBR intensifies efforts to improve revenue inflows and meet assigned fiscal targets amid ongoing financial monitoring and economic review processes. Tax authorities have urged taxpayers to take advantage of the extended working day to avoid penalties and late payment surcharges.
