ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed all major tax offices across the country to remain open on weekends and extend working hours until midnight on June 30, 2026, to facilitate the collection of duties and taxes before the close of the fiscal year.
According to an official notification issued by the Inland Revenue Operations Wing on June 24, 2026, all Large Taxpayers’ Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers’ Office (MTO), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) have been instructed to observe normal working hours on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.
The FBR has also ordered extended working hours on Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30, with tax offices remaining operational until midnight on the final day of the fiscal year.
The decision supersedes an earlier notification issued on June 19 and aims to ensure the smooth collection of government revenues, taxes, and duties before the end of FY2025-26.
The move comes as the tax authority intensifies efforts to achieve its annual revenue collection target. Traditionally, the final days of June witness increased activity at tax offices as businesses and taxpayers clear outstanding liabilities and make last-minute payments.
Taxpayers have been advised to complete their payments and documentation within the extended operating hours to avoid delays and ensure timely processing before the fiscal year closes.
The notification was issued by Sadaf Ihsan, Second Secretary (IR Operations), and circulated to all relevant Inland Revenue formations across Pakistan.
