ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced a special honorarium equivalent to six basic monthly salaries for government employees who participated in the preparation of the Federal Budget 2026-27.

Speaking in the National Assembly, the finance minister praised the efforts of officials involved in the budget-making process, acknowledging the additional workload undertaken during the formulation and presentation of the federal budget.

Aurangzeb said that eligible employees from the Prime Minister’s Office, Parliament, the Ministry of Finance, and the Prime Minister’s House who contributed to the budget exercise will receive the six-month salary bonus as a token of appreciation for their services.

The honorarium is intended to recognize the dedication and hard work of government officials who played a key role in preparing the country’s fiscal plan for the upcoming financial year.

In a separate announcement, the finance minister unveiled a new administrative initiative aimed at strengthening tax administration and business engagement.

He stated that the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), along with senior officials, will visit Karachi during the second week of every month to perform official duties and hold meetings with stakeholders.

The monthly visits are expected to enhance coordination between the FBR and Pakistan’s largest commercial hub, improve communication with the business community, and support more effective tax administration.
