LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority has recorded tax collections exceeding Rs220 billion during the first eight months of the fiscal year 2025–26 (8MFY26), reflecting strong growth in provincial revenue compared to the same period last year.
According to the latest figures, the authority collected more than Rs220 billion from July to February, marking an increase of over Rs63 billion compared with Rs156.3 billion collected during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The significant growth highlights improved tax compliance and enhanced revenue management strategies implemented by the authority.
The progress was reviewed during a performance meeting held on Friday, where officials evaluated monthly tax revenue targets and assessed the performance of regional offices across the province.
The meeting was chaired by Moazzam Iqbal Sipra, who praised the efforts of senior officials for their role in achieving revenue targets. He particularly acknowledged the performance of Muhammad Asif for consistently meeting monthly collection goals and appreciated Aftab Ahmad for strengthening revenue collection efforts in the Faisalabad region.
Sipra noted that the introduction of new tax sectors has played a key role in boosting revenue collection. He added that further administrative reforms are being planned to enhance efficiency and ensure that Punjab achieves its highest-ever tax collection target.
The improved performance of the Punjab Revenue Authority reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen the provincial tax system, expand the tax base, and improve compliance, contributing to broader fiscal stability and economic development in Punjab.
