LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has reported a robust 35 percent year-on-year increase in revenue collection during the first six months of the current financial year, reflecting the impact of administrative reforms and improved tax enforcement.
According to a spokesperson for the authority, the positive outcomes of the Chief Minister Punjab’s reform-driven strategy are now becoming evident, with PRA achieving record growth compared to the same period last year. The authority collected Rs149.5 billion during July–December of the ongoing financial year, up from Rs112.1 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The spokesperson attributed the sharp rise in revenue to the introduction of modern reforms, enhanced digitisation, and the establishment of a more transparent and efficient tax collection framework within the authority. These measures have strengthened compliance, broadened the tax base, and reduced leakages.
She noted that the sustained growth in provincial revenues is crucial for maintaining fiscal stability and ensuring the timely execution of development and welfare projects across Punjab. The PRA, she added, remains committed to further strengthening its systems to support the province’s economic and social development agenda.
