Customs Enforcement D.I. Khan Seizes Smuggled Goods Worth Rs51.8 Million

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: In a significant blow to smuggling networks, the Customs Enforcement Division, Dera Ismail Khan, under the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar, has seized smuggled goods and vehicles with a cumulative market value of Rs51.8 million during multiple enforcement operations.

In one major operation, Customs Enforcement D.I. Khan intercepted two Bedford trucks and a Toyota Altis GLi car found transporting large quantities of smuggled tyres, medicines, and cigarettes of various brands. The illicit consignments, along with the offending carrier vehicles, were taken into custody. The total market value of the recovered goods and vehicles from this operation is estimated at Rs48.8 million.

In a separate action, enforcement teams recovered smuggled items including cigarette paper, cigarettes, Teflon rods, and other miscellaneous goods concealed in different passenger buses. The market value of the goods seized during this operation is estimated at Rs3 million.

With these seizures, the total market value of smuggled goods and impounded vehicles recovered by Customs Enforcement D.I. Khan in the recent operations stands at Rs51.8 million.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reiterated its commitment to curbing smuggling, protecting legitimate trade, and safeguarding the national economy through sustained and effective enforcement measures.
