FBR Rolls Out Digital Invoicing System for Sales Taxpayers

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a new digital invoicing system for all sales tax-registered businesses, aimed at boosting automation, accuracy, and transparency in tax reporting.

FBR confirmed that corporate taxpayers are being prioritized for integration. Businesses can link their invoicing systems with the tax authority through licensed integrators, while Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) is offering free integration support.

Once connected, each transaction will automatically generate a digital invoice featuring a QR code and a unique identification number (UIN). Both suppliers and buyers will be able to instantly access these invoices via a dedicated online portal.

According to FBR, the system not only ensures real-time and accurate reporting but also cuts down on manual processes. A new Business Intelligence (BI) dashboard will give taxpayers complete visibility of their invoices by number, type, and value.

The facility also allows taxpayers to load approved invoices into their tax periods with just one click. Officials emphasized that the digital invoicing system will save time, reduce costs, and modernize tax compliance across Pakistan.
