Arif Habib, founder and CEO of Arif Habib Corporation Limited, expressed optimism on Monday regarding potential tax relief measures in Pakistan’s upcoming federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, specifically anticipating a reduction in the super tax.

Speaking to media representatives at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Habib shared insights from a recent meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to Habib, the Prime Minister indicated that the forthcoming budget would include further relief initiatives targeting various industries and the salaried class.

“I think we can also expect a reduction in the super tax in particular,” stated Habib, highlighting a specific area where he foresees a positive change for businesses.

The federal government is scheduled to present the budget for the next fiscal year on June 2. Habib’s comments come as stakeholders across different sectors await the budget details, hoping for policies that will stimulate economic activity and provide relief amidst current economic conditions.
