PESHAWAR – The Customs Enforcement Peshawar team successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of foreign liquor, following intelligence provided by the Collector Customs Enforcement Peshawar and directives from the Deputy Collector Customs, Dera Ismail Khan-II.
According to officials, the operation took place at the Aman Meela Check Post around 12:30 p.m., when a Toyota Hilux Revo (registration number ASC-406) was intercepted. Upon inspection, customs personnel recovered a substantial quantity of foreign-origin liquor concealed within the vehicle.
The liquor and the luxury vehicle were seized under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969. The confiscated liquor is valued at approximately Rs2.4 million, while the vehicle’s estimated worth is Rs8 million — bringing the total value of the seized goods to Rs10.4 million.
Customs authorities have intensified their vigilance to curb smuggling activities in the region.
