The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a significant surge in tax collection for April 2025, achieving a notable 30% month-on-month growth. This performance surpasses the 28% growth rate recorded in the period leading up to March.
The FBR’s robust collection in April 2025 has reached a significant milestone, exceeding the entire annual tax target of PKR 9300 billion set for the previous fiscal year.
This impressive growth momentum was maintained despite the FBR issuing refunds amounting to PKR 43 billion during the month, demonstrating the underlying strength of the revenue collection efforts.
A detailed breakdown of the collection figures reveals strong performance across key tax segments:
- Income Tax: Collection saw a substantial increase, registering a 44% growth.
- Sales Tax: This segment also contributed positively with a 17% growth.
- Federal Excise Duty (FED): FED collection showed a significant 31% growth.
The FBR’s performance in April 2025 highlights a positive trajectory in tax revenue mobilization, contributing to the country’s fiscal position.
