PRA Seizes Records Of 20 Businesses in Tax Enforcement Drive

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has stepped up its crackdown on tax defaulters, confiscating records from 20 business establishments across multiple cities as part of its ongoing enforcement campaign.

According to PRA officials, inspection teams reviewed sales data from several major fast-food chains and café outlets in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, and Bhakkar. Records from various marriage halls and marquees were also taken into custody. The authority said documents were seized due to suspected tax misreporting and non-compliance with the mandatory Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS).

PRA officials added that strict action will be taken against any businesses found collecting Sales Tax from customers but failing to deposit it into the provincial exchequer. Heavy penalties are expected for establishments caught concealing actual sales after a detailed examination of the seized data.
