PRA Warns of Strict Action Against Unregistered Businesses

Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra emphasizes enforcement and compliance across sectors

LAHORE: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra has issued a stern warning that businesses operating without proper registration will face strict legal action.

During a Wednesday meeting, the chairman highlighted that numerous establishments generating millions annually remain unregistered, and stressed that firm enforcement measures will now be applied. He reviewed Lahore division’s performance, including recovery targets and ongoing enforcement initiatives, directing that registration of marriage halls, marquees, and event management companies be completed by month-end.

Additional commissioners were instructed to submit detailed reports on pending recoveries. The chairman also ordered swift compilation of lists of businesses manipulating sales volumes or failing to remit consumer taxes.

Data from electronic food platforms across Punjab must be uploaded to the central dashboard, with strict adherence to the e-IMS system. Consumers were urged to always request e-IMS receipts and verify them via the PRA Sahulat App.
