RTO-II Karachi Detains Three Trucks Carrying 1,800 Sugar Bags with Fake TTS Stamps

KARACHI: In a joint enforcement operation with Inland Revenue Intelligence & Investigation (I&I), the Regional Tax Office (RTO)-II, Karachi intercepted and detained three trucks transporting sugar with counterfeit Track & Trace System (TTS) stamps.

The operation took place at Sassi Toll Plaza on the National Highway, where officials discovered a total of 1,800 sugar bags reportedly originating from Chambar Sugar Mills. The detained trucks bore registration numbers TKA-042, SDA-899, and AE-1488.

Authorities said the interception was part of ongoing efforts to enforce compliance with the Track & Trace regime, prevent tax evasion, and stop the illegal movement of essential commodities. Upon detection of the fake TTS stamps, the vehicles were immediately detained and moved to the NIPA premises of RTO-II, Karachi, for further investigation and legal action.

RTO-II officials confirmed that all further proceedings will be conducted under the relevant laws and regulations to ensure accountability and curb illicit trade.
