The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs828 billion in Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) from July to December, according to official sources.
Improved customs enforcement has played a key role in reducing petroleum smuggling, contributing to higher revenue. Compared to the same period last year, PDL collections rose by Rs284 billion. Between July and November alone, total PDL revenue reached Rs706 billion, with Rs146 billion coming from enhanced legal fuel supply and Rs138 billion from price adjustments.
As part of efforts to curb illegal fuel trade, the FBR has sealed 1,442 unauthorized petrol pumps nationwide, though around 142 pumps continue operating without authorization. Enforcement operations have been carried out across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
Officials say that ongoing enforcement measures are expected to further boost revenue and ensure compliance with petroleum regulations.
