Tax Expenditure Report 2025 Highlights Major Beneficiaries of Tax Relief

The government has released the Tax Expenditure Report 2025, listing major beneficiary sectors of tax relief, including pensions, social security, IT, education, health, and the salaried class. Income tax expenditure for FY 2023-24 stood at Rs. 545.22 billion, while sales tax expenditure was Rs. 1,237.11 billion, accounting for more than half of the total tax expenditure.
